This is my message to the new leader of the Tory Party.

Your priority must be for the improvement of Transparency, Accountability and Security (TAS). TAS must be seen to be working and if it’s not seen to be working, in all probability it ain’t working. TAS has not been seen to be working at the Tory Party for the last 14 years.

Your first job is to ensure that the Nolan Principles are applied. To ensure the NP are respected, you could add a caveat to the NP for the immediate expulsion of any Tory MP found guilty of NP failures. Ditto for the use of the FOI.

Talk is cheap, Madam. Introduce these two measures as a matter of urgency.
