In summary
This morning, I posted a message to the NO to CO2 Pipeline Wirral Facebook group which I’m now unable to find, copy and reproduce here due to this all-encompassing ban.
It’s likely to be an admin of the group who’s carried this out and as I’ll explain below, it’s more than likely Anna or Kelly(?). I can no longer SEE or SEARCH for the group because that’s how Facebook works. You get frozen out, or basically cut loose.
No worries. This sort of thing happens a lot to me and I’m becoming almost inured to it. And it’s not because I’m a bully, an abuser, a gaslighter, or obnoxious or malicious or anything nasty like that. I do communicate clearly and concisely. I have a knack of being able to use the English language very well, and to explain matters in very clear and precise terms (I used these skills to save me from being unfairly sacked twice). But certain people become upset by this and (perversely) end up perceiving me as a threat, which is entirely no fault of my own.
But why the ban?
First and foremost, I am deeply desirous of stopping this pipeline, and I am firmly against having our beautiful, local farmland despoiled and good people’s lives potentially impacted / ruined. I have a lot of experience that could be utilised well and brought to bear effectively. Banning me equates to shooting yourself in the foot.
To be more specific
I’ve spent a couple of months endeavouring to set up a local event. The subject of this is Land and Property Trusts. I won’t go into all the details and potential advantages of this here, so please click the hyperlink. The aim of holding this event is to set up a potential financial obstacle to Peak Cluster’s pipeline by inviting landowners to meet a qualified, professional person, who will go into the details of land and property trusts and explain all the advantages. I am aware that this is not necessarily a silver bullet against Compulsory Purchase Orders, but the more information people have, the better equipped they become to fight this, AND there are some extra unrelated advantages to putting your land and property into trust. People can decide for themselves at the event whether it’s a good idea for them or not.
My venue is excellent, top class, and can accommodate 15 to 20 people very comfortably on the day, with refreshments included.
But currently, I only know the names of three or four landowners who will be impacted by this project. That’s not enough to move forward with. I discovered recently that there were two factors preventing me finding out the names of more local Wirral landowners and thereby building up the numbers.
I revealed two facts in my message today.
1. As a Community Limited by Guarantee Company, Action Against Carbon Capture and Storage (AACCS) cannot provide legal advice to any landowners impacted by the Peak Cluster pipeline
2. As Chair of the CLG company, Laura Beveridge-Muircroft is in no position to divulge the names of landowners to me due to data protection rules
I stated in a later post that I am in full agreement with Laura’s official red lines on this.
I’ve had a great deal of experience in both Freedom of Information and Data Protection matters.
I didn’t mention it in this group today, but I was banned for life from making FOI and Personal Data requests by Cheshire West and Chester Council (who were trying to sack me using bogus gross misconduct charges) in September 2009. I was forced to use the services of Hugh Tomlinson KC to make the council capitulate.
Also, I’m not here to boast or grandstand, but I’m no slouch. Starting in 2011, I began a freedom of information survey into 345 English Councils. The outcome of this was I discovered that approximately £220 million had been squandered on compromise agreements – these were the official procedures used to gag and pay off senior council officers. They’re now known as non-disclosure agreements.
I’d estimate that a good 12,000 of the 12,400 members of the “No to CO2 Pipeline Wirral” group are new to political or environmental campaigning and as such will be highly inexperienced. Some will be likely to get upset / shamed when they come across someone like me who knows exactly what he’s doing.
I was getting 60 to 70 likes for my posts about private land and property trusts, but behind closed doors, one or two miffed individuals were complaining to moderators about my posts. SO … forget about the many who liked what I was doing, and let’s strive to accommodate the few who didn’t. That’s the policy here, it seems. So I messaged Anna, was given the okay to rejoin, but was placed on notice.
I wasn’t being emotional, which was the wayward implication of her response, but that’s where I’m up to with this. I can no longer post anything to the group because I’ve decided I’m better off out of it. So I’m hampered even further, re: the land / property trusts event, which is a little frustrating.
WATCH THIS SPACE FOR UPDATES… I WILL HAVE TO DO THIS ON MY OWN!
