Still ROOM to change the SITUATION?
Here’s an FOI request we placed over a month ago, on 16th April 2019:
https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/racial_profile_for_top_250_nhs_e
It’s currently languishing because NHS England responded to say they don’t know what we mean by ‘top 250 executives’ and have asked us to define it.
The Freedom of Information Act assists them in this regard because the clock stops ticking as the request is put on hold.
We’ve responded as follows and hopefully, they’ll come back to us, stop prevaricating and earn their public money salaries by correctly engaging with clear, uncomplicated public enquiries, as they are required to do under the law.
Although we’re uncertain about the frequency, we know that the top 250 to 300 executives in NHS England have gatherings.
We’re also aware of a concern among the very small (in single numbers) delegation of senior BME staff in attendance that they feel it’s synonymous to entering a kind of private club for whites only.
So it’s another…watch this space…and keep watching…but for how long…?
Toodle pip!
