This news was AVOIDED LIKE THE PLAGUE by the Wirral Globe, Liverpool Echo, Wirral News, BBC Northwest Tonight, et al. at the time.

It ain’t surprising none of the mainstream press ran with it. This was 2017 and Reach PLC (Liverpool Echo and hundreds more local papers) and Newsquest (Wirral Globe and hundreds more local papers) had just taken a seriously large influx of brain dead, BBC-trained reporters under the banner of the “LOCAL DEMOCRACY NEWS PARTNERSHIP”, hence they were newly into reporting propaganda and LITTLE ELSE.

The pair of them even made it into Private Eye.
