Waymo (Alphabet) has deployed a fleet of approximately 100 electric Jaguar I-Pace vehicles for autonomous testing across a 100-square-mile area of London, with a human safety operator present.
Lyft, in partnership with Baidu, is set to begin testing its Apollo Go RT6 robotaxi fleet in London within weeks of June 2026.
Tesla has been spotted testing its Full Self-Driving (Supervised) technology on UK streets, including navigating complex intersections like Swindon’s Magic Roundabout.
British startup Wayve is also conducting test runs ahead of government-backed robotaxi trials launching this year.
While these companies are actively testing, fully driverless public services (without safety drivers) are not yet widely available.
