1. DO NOT SPEAK TO THE POLICE

Do NOT say a word – you are always being recorded, keep your mouth shut, it is your right to remain silent and the police cannot use anything against you that you do not say.

2. DEMAND TO SPEAK TO A SOLICITOR

It is your right to legal representation and the police cannot interview you without a solicitor being present if you have requested one. Legal representation is free – use it!

3. ENTER A NOT-GUILTY PLEA

Do NOT plead guilty. Entering a guilty plea is a trap and does not ensure you will escape jail, it just makes the whole process a lot easier for the state.
