This testing will be carried out using imported Lateral Flow testing kits which contain trace amounts of cancer-causing ethylene oxide on the swabs. These swabs will be inserted into our children’s mouths and nasal cavities.

We have investigated this situation in great detail and discovered that the UK Government has carried out no detailed safety testing of these kits.

Currently, Lord Bethell and my MP Angela Eagle are fobbing off parents and members of the public, advising them that the kits meet the safety standards.

on exploring this further, we’ve found that Lateral Flow testing kits are not specified inside the relevant British or international safety standards.
