Twenty-five years ago the EA sent the bulldozers and diggers into a mile of the outer defence seabank from the Frieston Shore to Butterwick. This seabank was the first line of defence and still is.
The ideology was to increase the marshland for farming known as reclamation. This particular marshland held a very high percentage of salt.
No shit Shirlock.
However, this situation was not monitored by the EA and the crippled seabank remained. As we speak, these holes in the wall have weakened the East Bank and the fact it has never flooded the mainland is a stroke of luck. No person in their right mind would demolish any seabank. It must be catching on because Staple Brothers have done the same thing in Wrangle. The weather experts are predicting el Nino this year.
Boston and Skegness are the most vulnerable towns in the UK for flooding. There is no doubt in my mind; if these seabanks are allowed to be butchered, we can expect floods similar or worse than 1953.
Richard Tice is on record that the Boston Barrier was too little, too late, but what did he do?
