Four Peak Cluster senior officials attended at the Floral Pavilion today.

Most of the audience came away with the feeling that Peak Cluster are simply going through the motions, that the public consultations are regarded as a ‘necessary evil’ and that the installation of the CO2 pipeline is already a ‘done deal’.

We’ll keep fighting this and will be making our opposition stronger and better defined with each day that passes.

Some Wirral councillors were in attendance today, including Council leader and leader of the Labour Group, Paula Basnett – who wouldn’t talk to me when I approached her, asking for a statement.

For his part, Tory Councillor and leader of the Tory group Jeff Green wouldn’t talk to me either. I think he went off me ever since I did some public spirited investigations around senior level cronyism, the type of dodgy, hidden conduct that does big favours for your chums.
