At around 7pm tonight, it looks like I’ve been banned from the “No to CO2 Pipeline Wirral” Facebook Group

In summary

This morning, I posted a message to the NO to CO2 Pipeline Wirral Facebook group which I’m now unable to find, copy and reproduce here due to this all-encompassing ban.

It’s likely to be an admin of the group who’s carried this out and as I’ll explain below, it’s more than likely Anna or Kelly(?). I can no longer SEE or SEARCH for the group because that’s how Facebook works. You get frozen out, or basically cut loose.

No worries. This sort of thing happens a lot to me and I’m becoming almost inured to it. Not because I’m a bully or an abuser or obnoxious or malicious or anything nasty like that. I do communicate clearly and concisely. I have a knack of being able to use the English language very well, and to explain matters in very clear and precise terms. But certain people become upset by this and (perversely) end up seeing me as a threat, which is no fault of my own.

But why the ban?

First and foremost, I am deeply desirous of stopping this pipeline, and I am firmly against having our beautiful, local farmland despoiled and good people’s lives potentially impacted / ruined. I have a lot of experience that could be utilised well or brought to bear effectively. Banning me equates to shooting yourself in the foot.

To be more specific

I’ve spent a couple of months endeavouring to set up a local event. The subject of this is Land and Property Trusts. I won’t go into all the details and potential advantages of this here, so please click the hyperlink. The aim of holding this event is to set up a potential financial obstacle to Peak Cluster’s pipeline by inviting landowners to meet a professional person, who will go into the details of land and property trusts and explain all the advantages. I am aware that this is not necessarily a silver bullet against Compulsory Purchase Orders, but the more information people have, the better placed they become to fight this, AND there are some extra unrelated advantages to putting your land and property into trust. People can decide for themselves whether it’s a good idea or not.

My venue is excellent and can accommodate 15 to 20 people very comfortably on the day, with refreshments included.

But currently, I only know the names of three or four landowners who will be impacted by this project. Not enough to move forward with. I discovered recently that there were two factors stopping me from finding out the names of more local Wirral landowners.

I revealed two facts in my message today.

1. As a Community Interest Company, Action Against Carbon Capture and Storage cannot provide legal advice to any landowners impacted by the Peak Cluster pipeline

2. As Chair of the CIC, Laura Beveridge-Muircroft is in no position to divulge the names of landowners to me due to data protection rules

I stated in a later post that I am in full agreement with Laura’s official red lines on this. I’ve had a great deal of experience in both Freedom of Information and Data Protection matters. I didn’t mention it in this group today, but I was banned for life from making FOI and Personal Data requests by Cheshire West and Chester Council in September 2009. I was forced to use the services of Hugh Tomlinson KC to make the council capitulate.

So that’s where I’m up to with this. I can no longer post anything to the group so I’m hampered even further, which is a bit frustrating.
