“FOI Campaigner Sues Information Commissioner’s Office for £17 Million Over ‘Vexatious’ Scandal”

Alan M. Dransfield of Boston, Lincolnshire, has today launched a claim in the High Court against the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) for £17 million in damages.
Mr Dransfield alleges that the ICO has:
- Misused Section 14(1) of the Freedom of Information Act and Article 12(5)(b) GDPR to unlawfully block his statutory rights.
- Defamed him by exporting the so-called “Dransfield vexatious precedent” across the UK and beyond, branding him vexatious to silence legitimate public safety concerns.
- Breached its duty of care by obstructing justice, relying on perjury, and operating in collusion with public authorities to cover up corruption and safety risks.
The claim asserts that these actions violate the European Convention on Human Rights (Articles 6 & 10) and have caused catastrophic damage not only to Mr Dransfield personally but to public accountability across the UK.
Mr Dransfield said:
“This case is not just about me. It’s about every citizen whose right to know has been denied under the false banner of ‘vexatious.’ Fraud unravels all, and the ICO must now answer in court.”
The case will be filed in the High Court, Manchester District Registry.

Re the coming claim in the High Court against the ICO.
Would it be a candidate for people to join a class action against the ICO.
we are all damaged by this vexatious nonsense. Our interests are not being served by our FOIs being labelled vexatious.
Maybe a small group of us should consult a lawyer about this or contact Alan Dransfied and his lawyers to consider the case.
It would raise the profile of his case and draw the attention of the general public to this issue.
Even legacy media are struggling to get FOIs responded to.
