Urgent email to Angela Eagle from Wirral Residents Association, re: Kings Gap Hotel:

Dear Angela Eagle,

As a Home Office Minister and Wirral-based MP, please provide some detail around the situation now developing at the King’s Gap Hotel, King’s Gap, Hoylake, Wirral CH47 1HE.

There is much foreseeable and understandable uncertainty around this, we are sure you would agree.

Please explain how the decision to continue using this hotel to house immigrants fits in with the stated Home Office policy of reducing the number of establishments used in this manner.

Also, please explain what factors influenced the decision to allegedly change this occupancy from one of asylum-seeking families to one of males only and of unknown status.

We don’t know for sure, but it is rumoured that 100+ male immigrants will be moving into the Kings Gap Hotel tomorrow, Saturday 2nd August 2025.

Please number, break down and categorise the new, incoming occupants as follows:

Gender of all incomers?

Country of origin?

Asylum seeker?

Refugee (having achieved refugee status)?

Legal immigrant?

Illegal immigrant?

We are not being judgmental, but I’m sure you must appreciate and understand the feelings of local residents given the potential for an increased threat to local people’s wellbeing and security.

Please endeavour to allay our concerns around an apparent failure to correctly vet UK immigrants and to make this information public as a matter of urgency,

Best regards,

Paul Cardin
