UPDATE: Julian’s Hearing – Day 2

Hi Paul,

In a matter of hours, the second and final day of Julian Assange’s hearing will commence in London’s High Court.

The hearing is determining whether Julian will have permission to appeal, or whether he will be extradited to the United States where he faces a potential prison term of up to 175 years.

Today, Australians woke up to the news that Julian’s barrister, Edward Fitzgerald KC told the court the Julian was too ill to attend in person or even by video link from Belmarsh Prison.

While only a handful of people were able to be inside the Law Courts, Julian’s wife, Stella Assange provided an update at the end of the first day to the enormous crowd of supporters gathered outside.

Last week’s important passing of a motion supported by two thirds of Australian MPs (including Prime Minister Anthony Albanese) calling for Julian to be allowed to safely return to Australia shows that now is the time for the Australian Government to pull out all stops and publicly ask for Julian to be brought back home to Australia.

Here’s how you can help:

1. WATCH THE LIVESTREAM 🎥

Wherever you are, you can watch the livestream from outside the Royal Courts of Justice in London on Stella Assange and Assange Defence’s YouTube channels.WATCH

2. DONATE 🙏

A big thank you to the supporters that have donated so far, with many having donated multiple times. Julian’s father, John Shipton, and brother, Gabriel Shipton have been intensely campaigning in the lead up to the hearing and are now in London. A donation, small or large, will help cover their costs and allow them to focus on advocating Julian’s freedom.
