What happened to John, the creator of The Slog blog?

John Ward, the creator of the blog The Slog (also known as “Not Born Yesterday”), is a retired advertising executive and writer based in the UK who has been running the site since April 2003.  The blog, which he describes as a “Bollocks Log,” focuses on satire, ethics, politics, and economics, aiming to “ridicule everyone else” and expose what he perceives as the failures of authority and global finance.

Ward’s career as a blogger has been marked by controversy and claims of persecution.  He is notably linked to an article published around 2008 or 2009 regarding child abuse, which reportedly led to him being “persecuted” and subsequently moving abroad from the UK. The blog’s content often challenges mainstream narratives, covering topics such as the Greek debt crisisneoliberalism, and government accountability, and he has faced criticism from some commentators who labeled him a conspiracy theorist with a tendency to ban dissenting voices.

As of recent updates, Ward continues to operate The Slog and has transitioned to a new platform called Ghost to avoid blocking controversial comments.  He remains active as an author and journalist, with a stated goal of establishing a reputation while maintaining his independent, satirical voice against the “idiots running all this mess we call finance and commerce.”
