Dear Residents of Wirral,

We’d like to welcome you to our local Residents Association and thank you for taking the time to attend our recent meeting / join our Facebook Group.

We are committed to keeping our community up to date with news in our local area, and with council decisions which will be impacting our lives. Wirral Council is driving through numerous agendas at present which are largely not wanted by the public and which will be adversely affecting our health and wellbeing, now and in the future. The cost of living is also being impacted. For instance our council tax is likely to increase again at some point, and this will have a profound effect on increasingly strained household budgets. In addition, business rates are also likely to increase, which will directly impact levels of service, the customer base, and operational contingencies.

As you may have gathered from our recent meeting / Facebook and blog posts, highly dangerous 5G radiation has yet to be properly addressed and the dangers acknowledged by our council. We have yet to see any long-term scientific studies establishing 5G radiation as safe for Wirral residents’ health. Many roofs have small-cell antennas mounted on them where no planning permission is required. There are also over 100 monopole masts placed outside schools, hospitals, domestic properties and shops. Wirral Council’s planning department and planning committees have been falsely relying upon ICNIRP guidelines in order to approve these masts. The growing 5G network is currently the most urgent health topic that needs to be addressed.

Importantly, no council has a duty to provide street lighting. They only have a power, which can either be taken up or set aside. In order to fill 5G ‘black spots’ telecoms companies have consulted with councils in order to fit dangerous 5G transceivers to the top of street lighting lanterns. As it’s only a power, no council street lighting department has a duty to provide any 5G infrastructure. Hundreds of independent, international studies have found that 5G is potentially carcinogenic. Wirral Council have a duty to acknowledge the science, register the dangers, and put measures in place to protect their residents’ health. Recently we discovered via a freedom of information request that the Council doesn’t know whether it has insurance cover for its 5G network, and even that the UK’s top insurance companies are unwilling to underwrite 5G due to the risk of a future avalanche of successful personal injury claims.

At the Wirral Residents Association, we will be keeping our community connected by sending out regular updates. As and when urgent matters arise, we will be letting you know how we plan to respond.
